The 2024-25 edition of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) belonged to Australia after they won the fifth and final Test in Sydney by six wickets, to clinch the series 3-1 against India. Over the last few weeks down under, Australia and India battled hard throughout the five Test matches, but the hosts were too strong as the series reached its conclusion, and they were able to win it for the first-time in 10 years.

Jasprit Bumrah captains India to famous win in Perth Test
In the absence of Rohit Sharma due to personal reasons, Jasprit Bumrah took over the captaincy of the Indian cricket team in the first Test of the BGT at the Optus Stadium in Perth. He picked eight wickets in the match, including five in the first innings to break the back of the Australian batting lineup, which ultimately helped India to win the first Test by a massive margin of 295 runs after some exceptional batting from Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, and Virat Kohli in the second innings, apart from decent contributions from Nitish Kumar Reddy in both the innings.
