2007 World Cup-winning skipper is a qualified paratrooper

In 2015, four years after he was conferred the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel, the Ranchi-born underwent training and became a qualified paratrooper, and completed para jumps at the Paratroopers Training School in Agra. 

He performed five jumps, including a one-night jump, from an average height of 1250 feet to earn the prestigious ‘Para Wings’ of the Indian Army. Dhoni has also performed duties of patrolling, guarding and post duty with his 106 TA Battalion (Para) and has always enjoyed his time as an Army Officer.
