Former Israeli footballer Lior Asulin was one of many people who were killed by Hamas, a Palestinian organisation, during the final hours of the Supernova music event on October 7, Saturday morning. The all-night outdoor techno rave festival of music was held at a resort in the southern part of Israel, which is just two miles away from the Gaza border.

The rescue service in Israel, Zaka, stated that following the attack from Hamas, their paramedics removed over 260 bodies from the site. It has been reported that there were 50 attackers who arrived at the venue of the Supernova music event, killing hundreds of civilians, including Lior Asulin, which has deeply shocked the footballing community to its core.
Hapoel Tel Aviv, one of the former clubs for the Israeli footballer, sent out a tweet on their official Twitter account to share the sad news of Lior Asulin’s untimely demise. It read, “It is with great sadness that after many hours of disappearance, we learned that the club’s former player, Lior Asulin, was murdered by terrorists during a party.”
Hours before his death, Lior Asulin was in a happy and chirpy mood at the Supernova music event. In his last video, he was celebrating his 43rd birthday on October 6, Friday.
Notably, in his 19 year-long professional football career, which ended in 2018, Lior Asulin played for various clubs in his home country, with most appearances for Maccabi Herzilya, scoring 48 goals in 128 matches. He was convicted of selling marijuana, which led to him serving nearly a year in prison in 2021.
