Former UFC champion Francis Ngannou trained with boxing legend Mike Tyson ahead of his boxing debut clash against Tyson Fury. Notably, Ngannou parted ways with UFC as a free agent in early 2023 and signed to make his professional debut in boxing. In his debut bout, he will lock horns with Tyson Fury, which will take place on October 28 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Earlier, the 36-year-old former UFC fighter expressed his wish to train with Tyson, one of the greatest and most feared heavyweight boxers of all time. Tyson responded to it and agreed for the same. Ngannou posted pictures of him training with Tyson on his social media hailing Tyson as “Iron Mike" #FuryNgannou”.
Not only this, but Tyson also said that he will support Ngannou in his transition from octagon to boxing ring. Tyson said, "It's no secret I back Ngannou 100 percent in this face-off of champions. He has one hard punch, and when it lands, it's game over. I am looking forward to working with Ngannou and supporting his transition from the Octagon to the boxing ring.”
Notably, Ngannou signed with the UFC in 2015 following his six professional bouts in MMA. He won the 2021 heavyweight championship by taking down Stipe Miocic. With the upcoming bout in October 28, Ngannou’s opponent, Fury, will make his comeback in the ring since his victory over Derek Chisora in December, last year.
