Free Fire got its new and fresh name, Free Fire India in August 2023 and is set to launch in the sub-continent in the coming weeks. However, there is curiosity and speculation among gamers about whether the name of the game is going to be changed to Free Fire Bharat.

During the G20 summit in Delhi, on September 9th and 10th, Prime Minister Narendra Modi sat behind a nameplate inscribed with “Bharat”, the Hindi name for India. Since then, there have been rumors that the name of the country will be officially rebranded as Bharat, along with the entities in the country with ‘India’ in their names.

After facing a ban earlier by the Indian government, it's possible that the government's orders might play a significant part in the name of the game. If the Indian government in the future insists on Free Fire adopting the name Free Fire Bharat over Free Fire India, the game's developers have little choice but to comply with the regulations.

Another thing to note is that the name of the country has not yet been officially changed, so it is unlikely that the name will have ‘Bharat’ in it yet. There have been no official statements or updates from government sources or the Free Fire development team regarding a potential name change from Free Fire India to Free Fire Bharat. It seems these are just wild rumors, and the game will launch as Free Fire India itself, but that could change in the future.

Free Fire was set to return to India on September 5th, but the launch was delayed because of some technical reasons. The official launch date is not yet known, but it is expected to be in the first week of October.
