Bopanna-Ebden reach QFs after defeating Balaji-Varela 6-7, 6-3, 7-6
With a set down, Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden brought their A-game to the French Open third round match. They registered the first break of serve in the contest against N Sriram Balaji and Miguel Reyes-Varela in the fourth game before consolidating their advantage, to take the second set 6-3.
In the third set, there weren’t any breaks of serve either, which led to the match going to the super tie-breaker. Both pairings kept fighting tooth-and-nail in the super tie-breaker, but the Australian Open champions were too strong in the crunch moments to win the set and the match.
