Chennai Super Kings and India top-order batter Ruturaj Gaikwad gets married to Maharashtra state cricketer Utkarsha Pawar. The pair's wedding took place at the Le Méridien Resort in Mahabaleshwar, around 80 km from Pune.

Gaikwad was earlier set to be part of the Indian squad for the WTC final, but because of the wedding, Yashasvi Jaiswal was picked up as one of the standby players in the team. The pair haven't been seen together many times in public but were seen celebrating Chennai Super Kings' IPL 2023 title after beating Gujarat Titans.

Coming back to the wedding,  Ruturaj Gaikwad shared pictures of his wedding on social media. The photographs had a heartwarming caption talking about how his journey with  Utkarsha Pawar which started on the cricket pitch, now reaches the wedding altar. The caption said, "From the pitch to the altar, our journey begins!"

Talking about Ruturaj Gaikwad, the Pune native has been an integral part of the Chennai Super Kings for the last few years. In 16 matches in the 2023 season, Gaikwad scored 590 runs at an average of 42.14, and a strike rate of 147.50, with four fifties.

This performance has garnered a lot of praise for Ruturaj, especially from former Pakistan pacer  Wasim Akram, who believes Gaikwad has a bright future on the international stage.  While speaking to Sportskeeda, Akram said, “He came up with an excellent performance under pressure. The plus with him is that he is physically very fit. He is a very good fielder and is young as well. Gaikwad has a bright future when it comes to Indian cricket as well as the franchises he plays for/”
