Veteran Indian spinner, Amit Mishra in his recent interview dropped a bombshell when speaking of former India captain and batting great Virat Kohli. Mishra, who recently featured on a YouTube interview with Shubhankar Mishra, opened up on the fight which took place in IPL 2023 at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, involving Virat Kohli, Afghanistan pacer Naveen-ul-Haq, Gautam Gambhir and Mishra himself.

However, the fight took a year to subside, Amit Mishra, who plays for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) with former Indian cricketer turned Head Coach Gautam Gambhir serving as their mentor at that time, opened up on how things took time to cool down. He claimed that it was Gambhir who went and ended the fight, however, it should have been the other way round.

"I saw a good thing about Gautam. Virat Kohli didn't go towards him, Gautam went towards him. He went and asked 'How are you, how's your family.' So it was Gautam who ended the feud and not Kohli," the 41-year-old said. "So Gautam showed his big heart at that time. It should have been Kohli who should have gone and ended the feud. He should have gone and said 'Gauti bhai, let's end this,'" he added.

Fame and power changed Virat Kohli: Amit Mishra

The veteran Indian spinner continued to speak about Virat Kohli, who recently hung his boots from the shortest format of the game. The 41-year-old, who is mostly seen during the Indian Premier League claimed that he has been out of touch with Virat Kohli despite knowing him since the age of 14. He also added that a lot changed after Kohli was named the captain of the Indian cricket team.

Although he preferred to keep a clean comparison with Rohit Sharma, but pointed out the major difference Kohli and Rohit’s personalities over these years. “I won’t lie. As a cricketer, I respect him a lot, but I don’t share the same equation with him as I used to. Why does Virat have less friends? His and Rohit’s natures are different. I’ll tell you the best thing about Rohit. When I met him the first day and when I meet him today, he is the same person. So will you relate to him more or with someone who changes according to situation?,” Mishra said on Shubhankar Mishra’s YouTube channel.

Although he admitted that Kohli is respectful towards him, but claimed that the relation they share is not the same. “I have seen Virat change a lot. We had used almost stopped talking. When you get fame and power, they think people are reaching out to them for a purpose. I was never one of those. I have known Cheeku since the time he was 14, when he used to eat samosas, when he needed pizza every night. But there is a huge difference in the Cheeku I knew and Virat Kohli the captain. Whenever he meets me, he is very respectful, but it’s obviously not the same anymore,” he added.
