With the conclusion the of the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) lifting their third IPL title, several players from the winning side have opened up on their experiences in and around the team. In one of them, Nitish Rana revealed a special message he received from mentor Gautam Gambhir, who rejoined the side ahead of the 2024 edition
Taking to his Instagram, Nitish Rana revealed the message he received from Gautam Gambhir after he sent him a congratulatory post after he was named the mentor of KKR. However, he got a reply from the former India cricketer, dated November 22, 2023 where he expressed his gratitude.
“Thanks Nitish for this msg. This means a lot. Let’s create sumthing special. There is no better feeling in sport to stand on a podium and win a trophy. Let’s experience thtt,” Gambhir had replied to Nitish Rana after his appointment as KKR mentor. It is to be noted that Gambhir had his intentions clear as he then also motivated his team members to finish on the podium, which he later also expressed in a speech ahead of the IPL 2024.
The KKR batter featured in only two matches in the 2024 edition of the IPL, where he scored 42 runs.

After KKR ended their decade long wait of claiming the IPL title, this victory was followed by wild celebrations. One of the major key points in KKR’s title triumph was the return of their two-time IPL winning captain Gautam Gambhir, who joined the side as mentor.
After this emphatic win, the KKR took their team celebrations into the dressing room and in one of the videos shared by the franchise, Gambhir can be seen interrupting Head Coach Chandrakant Pandit’s speech. The 42-year-old can be seen interrupting Pandit as he said, “Ladke pagal ho rahe hai dance karne ke liye.”

It is to be noted that Chandrakant Pandit became the second Indian after Ashish Nehra to win the IPL title as Head Coach. Nehra won the title with Gujarat Titans in 2022 when the then Hardik Pandya-led side beat the Rajasthan royals in the summit clash in Ahmedabad
