Former NBA star Gilbert Arenas slammed Minnesota Timberwolves’ center Rudy Gobert after he missed the second round of the NBA playoffs against the Denver Nuggets. Despite Gobert’s absence from the game, the Wolves extended their win tally to 2-0 against their counterparts, owing to the brilliant efforts put in by the team members. The three-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year flew back to Minnesota to be with his girlfriend.
Gobert and his beau Julia Bonilla welcomed their first child, a baby boy, earlier during the day, and he wasn't able to come back before the start of the game. While several pundits and fans shared their blessings and best wishes with Gobert, others, including Gilbert Arenas, weren’t happy with his decision and slammed him.
Arenas spoke on the latest episode of Gil’s Arena and said that he could have been with the family after the game. The former NBA star said, “It’s a baby bro. It’s gon be there when you get back. We hoping. I mean, I’m just saying…Whatever you think you about to do with the baby, it’s going to be asleep…I get that you wanna be with your wife and smile and stuff and you’re good; NBA healthcare and insurance, because of you playing.”
