The Rohit Sharma-led Team India will take on Australia in the ODI World Cup 2023 opener at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The side who recently beat the Pat Cummins-led side in a three-match ODI series 2-1, will come into this game on a high as Asia Cup champions and keeping the home advantage on their side.

But ahead of this important match, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma provided huge update on his opening partner Shubman Gill. The skipper did not rule out Gill’s participation, but rather seemed confident that Gill might get fit for the all-important game.

Talking at the pre-match press conference, Rohit said, “We will give every chance to Shubman Gill to recover. He’s not ruled out.”

Earlier, Team India head coach  Rahul Dravid shared a major update on Gill’s health  as he tested positive for dengue. As quoted by RevSportz, Dravid said “He’s feeling better and medical team is monitoring him on a day-to-day basis. We will take a call on him later.”
