Following Eden Hazard's transfer to the Santiago Bernabeu for a rumoured sum of €100 million, which might increase to €146.1 million, the Belgian superstar could never really live up to the expectations. Since joining Real Madrid in 2019, the former Chelsea winger has only played a minor role. It, therefore, comes as no surprise that Los Blancos decided to end the 34-year-old's contract one year early and fans reacted on social media.
Eden Hazard's contract was mutually terminated, saving Real Madrid about €7 million. A portion of Hazard's expected compensation has been given up by him to the club. He represented the Los Blancos in 76 games scoring seven goals and 12 assists throughout his tenure and was a part of eight trophy-winning squads for Real Madrid. But a majority of his playing time for Real Madrid was shortened due to injury scares.
Following the club's decision to part ways with the former Premier League Player of the Season, fans have responded on Twitter. A few Chelsea fans are also demanding that Hazard be brought back to his boyhood club Chelsea. Some supporters expressed their annoyance at Hazard's inability to perform his magic while others were surprisingly glad for his departure.

This is not the first instance of a big name leaving his club recently as a lot of prominent players have left their respective clubs in the last few days. Some examples of these big names are Karim Benzema, Sergio Ramos, Ilkay Gundogan, Lionel Messi, and Toni Kroos. Most of the above players have not yet confirmed their future plans and clubs and it will be interesting to see which clubs these players will join in the future.
