NBA megastar LeBron James heaped praise on his son Bronny James after his career-high performance against the Oregon State Beavers. James delivered a stellar performance in a match that saw his side falling 86-70 to Oregon at Gill Coliseum on Sunday, December 31. James, who played his fifth return game after cardiac arrest in late July, shot 6-for-11.
The young basketball star and son of the Lakers icon, Bronny scored a career-high 15 points to go with three assists off the bench. His previous high was six points in a 79-59 win over Alabama State on December 19. After Bronny’s performance in the Sunday clash, LeBron took to social media and heaped praise on his son, while stating that his rhythm has started to return.
The 39-year-old tweeted, “His rhythm is returning to form after the layoff. Great showing tonight Young. Oh still on mins restriction too.” Notably, Bronny suffered a heart attack while practicing with his side in July. The 19-year-old returned to action in December in a game against Long Beach State on December 11. After the game against Oregon, the USC senior guard Boogie Ellis, who led USC in scoring with 20 points, said "Bronny's a great player.”
Ellis added, "I know he's going to make plays, make things happen. He brings a lot of energy for us, and he's been great on defense. To see what he's been through and to come back and play like this, it shows how great he is. I'm just glad that he's playing well and everybody else got to continue to play well with him."
