Ireland pacer Joshua Little who represents Gujarat Titans in the famous Indian T20 tournament, Indian Premier League will miss three games in the tournament due to his national commitments. Joshua has been included in the Ireland’s squad against Bangladesh for their must-win ODI series, scheduled to be played in May 2023. Little is the first player from Ireland to play in the Indian Premier League and was signed by the Gujarat Titans for a whopping INR 4.4 Crore.
Ireland are in a must-win situation to avoid clashing in the World Cup qualifier in Zimbabwe in July. Not only this, but it is also important for them to sweep Bangladesh and win 3-0 in the ODI series, which starts on May 9 in England. Now with this condition, Ireland has called back their star pacer Joshua Little to be on their side for their three-match series.
On Joshua’s selection in the team, Andrew White, the National Men’s selector said, “We are pleased to also have the services of Josh Little, who has been playing in the IPL over the last month. After a tough tour to Bangladesh last month, the lads will be keen to show their talent and skills in more familiar conditions – and with potential world cup qualification on the line, they will need no additional motivation to succeed.”
Little has so far featured in four matches of Gujarat Titans, where he took three wickets with an economy rate of 9.00. Meanwhile, Gujarat Titans have won three of their five matches, and are set to lock horns with Lucknow Super Giants on April 22, Saturday.
