Indian skipper Rohit Sharma wasn’t happy with the fielding effort by Yashasvi Jaiswal during day one of the boxing day Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy at Melbourne Cricket Ground. During the third session of the day, Australia’s Steve Smith defended a full length delivery by Ravindra Jadeja. However, Jaiswal, who was fielding at silly point, misjudged the ball and jumped anticipating a big shot.

Watching this while fielding at the slips, Rohit Sharma didn’t seem happy as he scolded Yashasvi Jaiswal by saying “Aree Jassu Gully cricket khel raha hai kya? Niche baith ke reh, jab tak ball khelega nahi tab tak uthne ka nahi, niche baith ke reh. (Are you playing gully cricket? Stay low till the ball is played.)“ Talking about the match, Australia finished day one at 311/6 with Sam Konstas, Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith scoring half-centuries.

Rohit Sharma to open in Boxing day Test, Abhishek Nayar confirms

After batting down the order in the last two matches, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma will now be seen back opening the innings in the ongoing boxing day Test in Melbourne as confirmed by assistant coach Abhishek Nayar. After KL Rahul had an impressive outing in Perth Test as an opener in Rohit’s absence, the Indian skipper decided to go with the same opening duo in the next two matches and himself batted down the order. However, Rohit failed to score big as he could only amass 19 runs in three innings.

Now, India have made a few changes in their playing XI for the boxing day Test. Apart from that, Abhishek Nayar also confirmed that Rohit will open in the innings for India in the ongoing fourth BGT Test. "Rohit will likely come up & open for us," Nayar told the press as quoted in Cricket Addictor.
