The Manchester City duo of Erling Haaland and Phil Foden are among the eight nominees for the  Premier League  Player of the Season, with no names of any Manchester United player. Last year’s Premier League Player of the Season winner, Erling Haaland, will be looking to bring home the prestigious award to Manchester City for the fifth straight season.

The Premier League announced the names of the eight nominees for the Player of the Season on Thursday, May 9. Apart from Erling Haaland and Phil Foden, the others who can win the prestigious award are Alexander Isak (Newcastle), Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice (Arsenal), Cole Palmer (Chelsea), Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool), and Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa).

In the Premier League Young Player of the Season category, who were aged 23 or younger at the start of the season, the nominees are Erling Haaland and Phil Foden (Manchester City), Alexander Isak (Newcastle), Cole Palmer (Chelsea), Bukayo Saka and William Saliba (Arsenal), Destiny Udogie (Tottenham), and Kobbie Mainoo (Manchester United). Last year’s winner, Erling Haaland, has the opportunity to win the prestigious award for the second time, just like his teammate Phil Foden, who did it in 2021 and 2022.

The fans can vote now for their favourite player of the Premier League season, in the young and open category, on the EA SPORTS website, until 12:00 BST on Monday, May 13. The winner will be announced on Saturday, May 18, after public votes will be combined with those of a panel of football experts.
