Australian skipper Pat Cummins attended a press conference a day before the second Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against India in Adelaide. The hosts suffered a humiliating defeat by 295 runs in the first Test in Perth and will be looking to turn things around in the day-night Test. Being one of the most successful captains of Australia, having led the country to World Test Championship title and ODI World Cup title, Cummins is yet to win a Test series against India and will look to achieve this goal despite losing the first Test of a five-match series down under.
During the press conference, Pat Cummins said that half of the side from the current Australian squad hasn’t won the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and the players are a to tick this box in the ongoing series. “For half of the (Australian) change room, we haven't won the Border Gavaskar Trophy. It is one last thing to tick off for a lot of us. Almost every challenge that we faced in the last few years, we have stepped up and done well,” Cummins was quoted as saying by TImes of India. Notably, Australia last won a Test series against India in 2014-15.
