The UEFA Euro 2024 qualifiers are scheduled to commence from Thursday, March 23 as big players including Cristiano Ronaldo has joined their national teams to qualify for the European championship. Ahead of Portugal's opener against Liechtenstein, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner has shared pictures from the training session with his compatriots.

The 35-year-old Ronaldo last played for Portugal in the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar, where A Selecao faced a shocking quarter-final loss against Morocco.

With just a day left in Portugal's opener against Liechtenstein at the José Alvalade Stadium, Roberto Martínez' team have began training. Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo is 'very happy' to return to the national duty as he shared smiling pictures with his teammates including Diogo Dalot, Raphael Leao, Danilo Pereira among others.

While Ronaldo holds the record for most-capped European men's footballer (196), the Portuguese captain is just four matches away to reach the milestone 200 caps for his national side.

In the UEFA Euro 2024 Qualifiers, Portugal are placed in the Group J along side Bosnia and Herzegovina, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, and Slovakia. After their opener against Liechtenstein on Thursday, Portugal will next face Luxembourg on Sunday, March 26 at the Luxembourg Stadium.
