Former Indian wicketkeeper-batter Parthiv Patel made a big comment on Rohit Sharma's impact on Mumbai Indians in comparison to Hardik Pandya and his time with the Gujarat Titans. Sharma has led the Mumbai-based franchise to five IPL titles in seven years while Pandya was the GT captain in their maiden season where they won the IPL in 2022.

But after the IPL 2024 retentions, Pandya was traded to the Mumbai Indians from Gujarat and then made the captain, replacing Rohit Sharma. Discussing the achievements of both players, Parthiv Patel spoke about how Hardik Pandya didn't win the IPL 2022 alone and needed a lot of help from head coach Ashish Nehra and the team management.
While addressing Rohit Sharma, Patel described the former Mumbai Indians captain can't be compared with anyone for his impact on the team's success. Parthiv Patel, while speaking on Jio Cinema, said: "Hardik Pandya didn't win that trophy alone - Ashish Nehra and the team management were there with him. But what Rohit Sharma has done for MI is incomparable."
