Star Indian all-rounder, Hardik Pandya, who has been in news off late following his trade to Mumbai Indians ahead of IPL 2024, is reportedly set to miss the 17th edition of the cash-rich league. Hardik, who featured for India in the ODI World Cup 2023 at home, sustained an ankle injury in the match against Bangladesh in Pune.
However, the key player has been out of action since then, ruling him out of the Australia series, followed by South Africa tour and the upcoming Afghanistan series. But if recent reports are to be believed, the cricketer is likely to miss the 2024 edition of the Indian Premier League.
Although, there is no clarity on Hardik Pandya missing the IPL 2024 as of now, but a BCCI source was quoted by PTI as saying, “There is no update on Hardik’s fitness status as of now and one can say there remains a big question mark of him being available before the end of IPL.”
The 30-year-old just days after his trade to MI was named the skipper of the side, replacing their longest-serving captain, Rohit Sharma. Under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy, MI won five IPL titles and one Champions League.
