Just a day after reports of Hardik Pandya’s unavailability for the Afghanistan series and the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) surfaced, it is being further reported that the Indian all-rounder will be fit in time for the three-match T20I series against Afghanistan. The 30-year-old has been out of action after he sustained an ankle injury in match against Bangladesh during the ODI World Cup 2023 in India.

A reliable source close was quoted as saying by Time of India, “He has completely recovered from his ankle injury. He has been training every day.” This statement comes after the reports around the Indian all-rounder missing the IPL 2024 surfaced. Hardik “should definitely be fit for the IPL, and possibly the Afghanistan T20Is,” the source further asserted.

“Hardik is fit and fine. In fact, he has been working out daily. All the talk about him going on to miss the IPL is just rumour. There are still almost four months left for IPL 2024, so anything, at this moment, is just speculation,” the source further quoted.

It is to be noted that Hardik Pandya was traded to Mumbai Indians ahead of IPL 2024 mini-auction. However, just days ahead of the IPL mini-auction, the former Gujarat Titans skipper was even named the skipper of the five-time champions Mumbai Indians, replacing Rohit Sharma.
