
Fast bowler Haris Rauf has now been included in Pakistan’s squad for the upcoming ODI series against New Zealand. Notably, Rauf couldn’t find a place at first when the Pakistan Cricket Board initially announced the squad for the ODI series. However, the PCB has now made a u turn and included Rauf in the squad for the upcoming series.
Notably, Haris Rauf and Shaheen Afridi, two of the key pacers in Pakistan team were a part of the squad for the recently ended T20I series against New Zealand but were sidelined for the ODI series at first. However, Rauf has made it’s return to the side but Afridi still couldn’t find a place in the 50-over format. The first ODI between New Zealand and Pakistan will be played at McLean Park in Napier on March 29.
PCB Chief Selector requests for reserve wicket keeper New Zealand ODIs
Pakistan had a forgettable outing in the recently ended T20I series in New Zealand as they ended up losing the series by 1-4. Now, the visitors will be looking to get a winning smile in the ODI format. Apart from that, a PCB source claimed that selector Aaqib Javed also requested for a reserve wicketkeeper in the squad for the New Zealand ODIs. This has also opened the door for Muhammad Haris or Usman Khan to get a call ahead of the ODI series.
