Harry Brook has pulled out of England's Test squad to tour India citing personal reason s. The development was confirmed by the England Cricket Board in a release. Replacing Brook, Surrey batter Dan Lawerence has been picked in the squad. The Three Lions are set to arrive in Hyderabad on Sunday, ahead of the start of the first Test on January 25.

Brook was set to be a crucial member of the English middle order for this crucial series and hence his absence will be a huge blow to the inexperienced batting lineup. The statement also shared that the Brook family has requested privacy from the media for their decision.
The statement said, "Harry Brook is set to return home with immediate effect for personal reasons from the England Men's Test tour of India. He will not be returning to India. The Brook family respectfully requests privacy during this time. In light of this, the ECB and the family kindly request the media and the public to respect their wish for privacy and refrain from intruding on their private space."
