Fast bowler Hasan Mahmud made a hilarious blunder in an attempt to run out Dane Piedt on day 2 of the first Test between Bangladesh and South Africa at Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Mirpur. During South Africa’s batting on the second day, Dane found himself in trouble as the right-hander was involved in a mix up with Kyle Verreynne. However, he was saved as Hasan threw the ball towards him instead of stumps.
Dane Piedt hit a straight shot on Hasan Mahmud’s delivery on day 2. However, the ball went directly towards the fast bowler’s hand and was going near the non-striker. After hitting the shot, Dane left the crease in an attempt to take a single and almost covered more than half of the crease. However, Kyle Verreynne kept his bat inside the crease and asked Dane to go back. As Dane was running towards his crease Hasan Mahmud aimed his throw at the stumps but ended up throwing the ball towards the Proteas batter and hitting his leg, leading to a hilarious blunder.
