Hours after Shoaib Malik’s wedding with Sana Javed, Sania Mirza’s personal life has been a trending topic. The Pakistan cricketer and the Indian tennis ace, who tied a knot in 2010 and have a son Izhaan, who was born in 2018, have been in news off late with divorce rumours touching the sky.

However, the Pakistan all-rounder tied a knot with actor Sana Javed on Saturday, 20th January, sharing picture across social media, Mirza’s team and family has now opened up, requesting “privacy” for the star.
“Sania has always kept her personal life away from the public eye. However, today the need has arisen for her to share that Shoaib and she have been divorced for a few months now. She wishes Shoaib well for his new journey ahead,” the statement from Sania’s team and family said.
“At this sensitive period of her life, we would like to request all fans and well-wishers to refrain from indulging in any speculation and to respect her need for privacy,” it further added.
Moreover, Sania’s father, Imran Mirza on Saturday had confirmed that she had taken a “khula” from Malik. “It was a khula. I do not wish to comment beyond this,” said Imran Mirza. For the unversed, Khula is a right granted to Muslim women to unilaterally divorce their husbands under Sharia law.
