Rinku Singh did the impossible on Sunday as he hit five consecutive sixes to Yash Dayal when they needed 28 off the last five and won the game for Kolkata Knight Riders. The batsman was lauded by everyone but Rohan Gavaskar, who was one of the on-air commentators, criticized Yash Dayal’s bowling in the final over.
The former Indian cricketer who called out the Gujarat pacer Yash for his 'rubbish' bowling, said, “He has bowled absolute rubbish over there, but we've been talking about Rinku Singh and how good he has been batting. Yesterday we were saying that if a batter goes at about a run-a-ball or at a strike-rate of 120, you are criticising him. A bowler goes for 31 and you say it's Rinku Singh - he takes the plaudits. And that is why I keep saying this is a bowler's game.”

Talking off the match, which was at one point GT’s, Rinku Singh’s last over heroics brought the visitors back in the game. While several cricketers and Rinku Singh too had some motivating words for Yash Dayal, Rohan Gavaskar is facing flak from the fans.
His words did not go well with the fans who were enraged and called for his removal from the commentary team.
