However, a major blunder caused by the former India head coach, Ravi Shastri went unnoticed. When the captains of both teams walked in for the toss, Shastri addressed Titans as Giants, leaving the skipper with a smile.

Wat ch the video here:

Shastri began his address in a powerful voice saying, “ Coming up to toss time but before that, this is what the two teams are playing for, the Tata IPL, 15 going on 16 and getting bigger and bigger by the year. Time for the coin to go up for the first time in IPL '23, Hardik Pandya - Gujarat Giants, MS Dhoni - Chennai Super Kings, Javagal Srinath - the match referee and the toss representative."

However, Pandya was quick to notice that Shastri had caused a blunder and smiled at Dhoni and the match referee.  For those who don’t know, Gujarat Giants is a Women’s Premier League team. Shastri was part of its commentary panel and fans felt as if WPL is still not over for him.

Gujarat’s captain had won the toss and chose to ball first. Though Ruturaj’s sizzling 92-run knock made it seem like CSK would score 200, the hosts’ powerful comeback made them score 178 only. In the second innings, thanks to quality performances by Shubman Gill Gujarat secured a 5-wicket win against Super Kings and started off their season with a win.
