During the pink ball Test match at the Gabba in Brisbane, the Australian legend Ricky Ponting was involved in a hilarious chat with the West Indies fast bowler Kemar Roach. The 49-year-old was quick to make a joke about the West Indian owning him $1.5 million at the start of play on Day 3 of the second Test.

Kemar Roach joined Ricky Ponting, Justin Langer, and James Bradshaw on the “Channel 7” show before play on Day 3 between Australia and West Indies began in Brisbane. The conversation moved to the Perth Test match between both teams in 2009 wherein Roach threw a barrage of bouncers at Ponting, which led to him securing a contract in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Following the display of the video footage on Channel 7, Ricky Ponting was quick to point out to Kemar Roach how he got his IPL contract after jokingly saying that he owed him a lot of money. He was quoted as saying, “I have actually said forever, Kemar, he still owes me about 1.5 million dollars because on the back of that (spell), he was picked up in the IPL auction straight after.”

In response, Kemar Roach quipped to Ricky Ponting, “You could've dealt with it better.” Notably, one of the bouncers of Roach hit Ponting on his arm, forcing him to retire hurt from the Perth Test nearly 15 years ago.

Moreover, Day 3 of the Australia versus West Indies Test match at the Gabba in Brisbane was a very competitive one. Following the abrupt end to West Indies' second innings for 193 runs because Shamar Joseph retired hurt due to an injury, Australia were 60/2 in pursuit of 216-run target with Steve Smith and Cameron Green at the crease.
