Former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali made a big revelation after Gary Kirsten resigned from his role of Pakistan’s white-ball coach. Alli revealed that Kirtsen was not happy with Mohammad Rizwan’s appointment as Pakistan’s white-ball captain, and wanted a different cricketer to don the responsibility. Notably, the past 24 hours have seen Pakistan cricketer going through considerable amount of changes. Mohammad Rizwan was appointed as the white-ball captain, followed by Kirsten’s resignation leading to Jason Gillespie as an all-format head coach. 

After Kirsten’s resignation, Ali, on his YouTube channel revealed that Kirsten wanted a different player to be appointed as the white-ball captain of Pakistan. He said, “It all started when Rizwan was made captain. Kirsten wanted a different player to lead, someone who wasn’t in the current side. He thought he had full authority, but he doesn’t realise that in our country, the PCB chairman can change overnight.” 

People were trolling him, the media was trolling him: Danish Kaneria

Former Pakistan cricketer Danish Kaneria also opined on Gary Kirsten’s resignation and revealed that he left the role because of constant trolling. He said, "If you bring someone in and expect him to perform wonders early on, it's not possible. That's the only reason he didn't like how things went after the World Cup - people were trolling him, the media was trolling him, everything.” 

He added, "So, a guy like Gary will not take that, and Gary has taken a good decision by not continuing with Pakistan. But it's a big loss for the Pakistan team, especially for the youngsters, given the immense experience he brings.”
