On the latest episode of the Grade Cricketer podcast, Tristan Stubbs revealed that Kuldeep Yadav refused to bowl to him in the Delhi Capitals nets during the IPL 2024. The South African international, who is the part of the T20 World Cup 2024 squad, went to Kuldeep Yadav about wanting to face him in the practice sessions, but his Indian counterpart wasn’t having any of it.
Notably, Tristan Stubbs and Kuldeep Yadav have been two of the biggest driving forces in helping Delhi Capitals stay in the race for IPL playoffs in the ongoing season . While the right-handed batter from South Africa has been scoring at around 190 strike-rate in the middle to late overs, the Indian wrist spinner has picked up 14 wickets in just nine matches for DC in the IPL 2024.
When one of the Grade Cricketer podcast hosts asked Tristan Stubbs about how he is facing Kuldeep Yadav in the nets, the South African remarked, “He won't bowl to me, I have tried a few times to go face him but he won't bowl to me. I think he's trying to keep it a mystery, so I can't tell you I have tried to face him but he's not having it.”
It led to the host asking Tristan Stubbs about if he is looking to face Kuldeep Yadav, keeping in mind the potential of South Africa facing India in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024, he responded, “I think it's quietly not been said but I think so yeah.”
Moreover, India and South Africa are in two different groups in the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, which is going to be played in the Caribbean and the USA. From there, both these cricketing nations will be looking to advance through to the Super 8 stage, where they could potentially face each other for the first time in the tournament.
