After a poor start to the IPL 2024, Royal Challengers Bengaluru have seemingly found a second wind as they have won three straight games and kept themselves alive in the IPL playoffs race. With their home win against Gujarat Titans, RCB has four wins from 11 games with eight points and a net run rate of - 0.049.
Now with three games remaining, RCB need to win all of them to reach the 14-point mark to stay alive in the playoff race. Now RCB is set to play Punjab Kings, Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings in its remaining matches.
How can RCB qualify for Playoffs after beating GT on May 4?
If RCB wins all its games, Faf du Plessis' men need one of Sunrisers Hyderabad or Luck now Super Giants to not win more than one game in their remaining schedule as SRH and LSG have 12 points from 10 games. Further, Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals mustn't win more than two games as both have 10 points. Similarly, Punjab Kings also should win less than three games as they have eight points from 10 games.
If these scenarios come true the points table will have six teams with 14 points, after which the net run rate will decide the playoff picture. RCB can also qualify for the playoffs with 12 points. If they lose one of their next three games, RCB needs the aforementioned teams to stay below 12 points, which would once again bring net run rate into the picture.
