The defending champions Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are currently in a tricky situation in the ongoing season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) in 2025. After getting a good start with back-to-back wins in the first two matches of the season, RCB completely lost their momentum and went on to lose four consecutive matches after that.

Now RCB are on the verge of getting knocked out of the tournament with two matches to go. The Smriti Mandhana-led side will face Up Warriors in Lucknow on March 8, followed by their last league match against Mumbai Indians at Brabourne Stadium on March 11. They are currently at the fourth spot in the points table with a negative net runrate of -0.244.

How can RCB qualify?

In order to make it to the top three in WPL 2025, RCB need to win both their remaining matches against UP Warriorz and Mumbai Indians respectively. However, the defending champions need to ensure that they get a big win in the next two matches as UP,  MI and Gujarat Giants are also in the race to make it to the top three with Delhi Capitals having already qualified for the playoffs.

Along with the win, RCB also need to improve their net run rate in order to make it to the top three of WPL 2025. RCB need to ensure that they finish with eight points after the end of the league stage. Apart from that, RCB also have to hope that Mumbai Indians lose two of their remaining three matches, and UP Warriorz lose one of their last two matches. If this happens, RCB can make it to the top three along with Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Giants.
