The bottom three sides in the table like Hobart Hurricanes, Melbourne Renegades and Sydney Thunder have been eliminated already, since none of those three teams can even reach a minimum of 9 points even if they win their remaining games, hence they will end up below the top four sides Brisbane Heat, Perth Scorchers, Sydney Sixers and Adelaide Strikers who already have nine (or) more points in the table.
Now, both Adelaide Strikers and Melbourne Stars have one more game left in their schedule.
if Adelaide Strikers win their next match against Sydney Thunder then they will directly become fourth team to qualify for the playoffs with 11 points as Melbourne Stars can maximum get only 10 points.
If Adelaide Strikers lose their next match against Sydney Thunder then they have to wait for the result of Melbourne Stars vs Hobart Hurricanes game.
- if Melbourne Stars lose to Hobart Hurricanes then Adelaide Strikers will still qualify
- if Melbourne Stars vs Hobart Hurricanes end in no result then Adelaide Strikers will still qualify
- if Melbourne Stars beat Hobart Hurricanes then Melbourne Stars will qualify as fourth team for playoffs.
For Melbourne Stars to qualify, they should hope that Sydney Thunder should beat Adelaide Strikers a day earlier and later the Melbourne Stars franchise have to beat the Hobart Hurricanes for them to enter playoffs.
