India team is all set to kick off their West Indies tour with the two-Test match series, starting July 12 in Dominica. With this two-match Test series, the Rohit Sharma-led side will also begin their WTC 2023-25 cycle. The first Test will kick start at the Windor Park in Dominica on Wednesday.

Ahead of the opening match of the multi-format tour, Team India deputy Ajinkya Rahane addressed the media. While the rest of the team members were engaged in a gruelling session, Rahane answered the queries and questions of the reporter. During this time, as the reported questioned Rahane while talking of his experience over the age, the vice-captain took a hilarious dig and clarified that he is still young.
“What do you mean by at this age? I am still young. There’s still a lot of cricket in me,” Rahane hilarious replied, leaving skipper Rohit Sharma, who was also present at the scene in splits.

While he looked tad irritated further asserted, “I had a good IPL and domestic season. I have grown in confidence as a batter but in the past one and half year I have also worked a lot on my fitness.” “I have worked on a few aspects of my batting. At the moment I am enjoying my cricket. I am not thinking too much about the future. For now every match is important to me,” he continued.
Rohit has all traits of a great captain: Ajinkya Rahane
The deputy to Rohit Sharma, Rahane also hailed his skipper. The Test mainstay for the Men in Blue, who made a return to red-ball cricket in June during the WTC Final against Australia said, “WTC final was the first game where I played under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy. Rohit gives freedom to all players and those are good traits of great captain.”
