Former India and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain, MS Dhoni is looking good ahead of the IPL 2025. While the star cricketer is only seen in the cash-rich league after he called off curtains to his international career, he will kickstart his season as CSK take on five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) in their season opener at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
While he has been in sublime form, as seen in the practice sessions, recently during an internation with JioHotstar, MS Dhoni shut down his retirement talks. His comments came after there have been speculations in every edition of the tournament of it being the last for the wicketkeeper-batter.
I can play for as long as I want for CSK: MS Dhoni
The 43-year-old, who will become the oldest player to feature in the tournament, was retained by the Yellow Army as an uncapped player for INR 4 Crore. Speaking with JioHotstar, Dhoni clarified that he will play for the franchise as long as he want, while adding that it is his franchise.
"I can play for as long as I want for CSK. That's my franchise. Even if I'm in a wheelchair, they'll drag me," Dhoni said during a recent interaction. It is to be noted that MS Dhoni continues to remain one of the decorated cricketers and has been associated with the five-time champions since long now, leading them to five titles.
While he has been tight lipped of his retirement, reports hit the roof when he was spotted wearing a t-shirt which had a cryptic message, which read, “One Last Time”. It left fans worrying about his future in the league as well as with CSK.
