In the Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 final, Mohun Bagan Super Giant defeated Bengaluru FC 2-1, to lift the coveted trophy for the second-time in history on Saturday, April 12, at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata. Following the massive victory, Mohun Bagan midfielder Sahal Abdul Samad could be heard on camera saying, “I can’t hear you” before blowing flying kisses to silence the trolls, who have been on his back for quite some time due to his indifferent performances.

After losing the ISL final to Mohun Bagan two years ago, Bengaluru FC played exceptionally well for the first hour of the summit clash of the 2024-25 season, taking a 1-0 lead in the 49th minute with an own goal from Alberto Rodriguez. But then, Mogun Bagan clawed their way back into the final with the 72nd minute penalty conversion from James Cummings, to make it 1-1, and then, the extra-time was enforced to decide the winner.

In the 96th minute, Jamie Maclaren scored the all-important second goal for Mohun Bagan, to put them in the box seat in the ISL 2024-25 final. With the time running out, Bengaluru FC threw the kitchen sink at the opponents in their bid to get the equaliser with Sunil Chhetri coming close, but his curling free-kick went over the bar, and following that, Mohun Bagan hung onto their 2-1 lead to win the coveted ISL title for the second-time.
