The Men in Blue are all set to lock horns with their Australian counterpart in the much-awaited ICC WTC Final 2021-23. The top two teams will play for the prized Test mace at the Oval in London, starting June 7, with a Reserve Day in place as June 12. Ahead of this all-important tournament, India skipper Rohit Sharma addressed the pre-match press conference on June 6.

In one such incident, a journalist questioned Sharma and reminded that India hasn’t won an ICC trophy for a decade now, to which the Indian gave a stern reply. The journalist asked, “India hasn’t won an ICC tournament since a long time now and whether this add on as extra added pressure in the minds of the cricketers?”

After listening to the journalist, Sharma said, “We are aware of what the team has won and what they haven’t won. It is not useful to just think about it again and again.” He also added that this question was raised last year also in Australia during the T20 World Cup and the reply was similar to this one.

Talking more about the Indian squad, the side will definitely miss the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant, who are rehabilitating after sustaining injuries. The BCCI recently replaced Ruturaj Gaikwad with Yashasvi Jaiswal, whereas Ishan Kishan was named as KL Rahul’s replacement.
