Legendary actor Rajnikanth expressed his concern for the SunRisers Hyderabad owner Kavya Maran. Rajnikanth was at the audio launch event of his upcoming movie ‘Jailer’ on July 28, Friday, where he shared his views on the Indian Premier League’s Hyderabad-based franchise and Kavya's visible rollercoaster of emotions while she witnessed her team’s defeats during the 2023 season.
Not only this, but the Indian superstar also suggested Kavya’s father Kalanithi Maran to consider recruiting better players to enhance the team's performance in the upcoming seasons. “Kalanithi Maran [Kavya Maran’s father] should put good players in Sunrisers Hyderabad team. I feel bad seeing Kavya like that on TV during the IPL,” he said.
Rajnikanth’s empathy for Kavya was evident, as he commented on her visible emotions when her team endured losses during the 16th edition of the cash-rich league. Not only this, but Rajinikanth, who is fondly known as ‘Thalaiva’ by his fans, advised the SRH management to invest in better players as a strong team composition can help the team win some important games in the tournament.
Notably, the recently concluded season of the cash-rich league was far away from how the players, fans and owners would have expected it to be for the team. The Orange Army could manage to win only four out of all the games they played this season and sat at the bottom of the standings with eight points and an NRR of -0.590.
