Minnesota Timberwolves shooting guard Anthony Edwards said that he is a better player than Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Luka Doncic. Edwards, Alexander and Doncic were called the future of the league by Kevin Durant and Steph Curry. Edwards was recently asked about being called the future face of the NBA. The 22-year-old seemed to agree that they are future stars of the league. However, when ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith asked him who he thinks is better among the three, he gave a straightforward reply and picked himself.

Edwards told Smith, “I feel like I’m the better player, 100%.” Notably, Edwards is currently leading his side Minnesota Timberwolves to the best record in the Western Conference. Alexander has been up to the same antics with his side OKC Thunder, who sit just beside the Timberwolves. On the flip side, Dallas Mavericks’ star Luka Doncic is regarded as one of the best faces in the NBA since 2018. The 24-year-old player has been a part of the All-NBA First Team four teams in the short span of five years.

This gonna sound crazy: Anthony Edwards as he picks his GOAT

The Timberwolves star picked his GOAT and dropped a bombshell while naming his unconventional choice. While several NBA fans and experts would choose names like LeBron James or former NBA icon Michael Jordan, the young star made quite a unique choice. Edwards named someone he has played against and is still in the league.

Replying to ESPN’s Malika Andrews, Edwards said, "Man, this gon' sound crazy but, Kevin Durant. I've always just been a fan watching him play as a kid. He's the first seven-footer I've seen putting the ball on the floor and scoring off the dribble, so I've always been a big fan." Notably, Durant is a four-time NBA scoring champion as well as an efficient scorer making to the NBA’s 180 club twice.
