Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant opened up about his experience after suffering a life-threatening car accident in December 2022. The horrific accident kept Pant out of action throughout the entirety of 2023 with the Southpaw missing major tournaments like the Indian Premier League and the ODI World Cup.

Pant was left with a ligament tear in his right knee and two cuts on his forehead after the accident. But over this year, Rishabh Pant has made massive strides in his fitness as he is set to be part of the upcoming IPL 2024 season for the Delhi Capitals. Speaking about this journey, Pant shared how he felt that his time was up.

“First time in my life I felt like my time in this world is up. During the accident, I was aware of the wounds, but I was lucky as it could have been even more serious. I was feeling that someone saved me. I asked the doctor how long will it take for me to recover, he said it would take 16-18 months. I knew I had to work hard to cut this recovery time,” Pant told Star Sports.
Pant joins Delhi Capitals for IPL Auction 2024
Recently, Rishabh Pant was part of the Delhi Capitals group at the IPL 2024 auction alongside cricketing legends like Sourav Ganguly and Ricky Ponting. The Capitals had a forgettable IPL 2023 season as the team finished ninth in the league with five wins and nine losses.
