Former India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni enjoys a huge fan-following in the Indian subcontinent and across the globe. Every cricketer enthusiast carries special love, respect and admiration in their heart for the 2011 World Cup winning captain. No matter who our cricketing idol is or the team we preach in the Indian Premier League, it is almost every cricket follower’s dream to meet the former India cricketer. Apart from finishing matches in style, the 41-year-old is known for his love for bikes and good food. There is something that the Ranchi-born cricketer is allergic to and the celebrated chef, and celebrity Chef Pillai recalled an incident associated with him.

A big fan of chicken butter masala, Dhoni loves his plate filled with mouth-watering delicacies. However, the Chennai Super Kings skipper is allergic to sea food. While every cricket fan took to social media to celebrate CSK’s fifth IPL win, popular chef, Chef Suresh Pillai, commonly called Chef Pillai shared an incident dating back to 2018, when the former India skipper called him to his room and told him about his allergy. Taking to Twitter, Chef Pillai recalled how Dhoni had refused to eat seafood as he is allergic to it. During India vs West Indies ODI series in 2018, a special dish was prepared for Team India in Thiruvananthapuram.

Recalling the incident, which is very close to his heart, he wrote on his Twitter, "When the whole world was celebrating the legend and the heart of Indian Cricket yesterday night, I was still in awe of the time I had the privilege of serving him 5 years back."

However, when Dhoni came to know about the dish, he called up Chef Suresh to his room and told him about his allergy. MS Dhoni requested him for some chicken curry, rice and spicy rasam. Chef Suresh quickly moved to the kitchen, and within 20 minutes came back with the food. "In about 20 minutes, I returned with the food to room no.302: Chettinad Chicken, Basmati Rice, Roasted Pappadam, and Rasam with a hearty serving of pepper and garlic," he recalled.

Dhoni loved the food and ensured that the chef is duly thanked for the same. The Chef wrote on Twitter, "The next morning, he got hold of me while on the way to the gym and told me he loved the dinner! I felt like I was over the moon - nothing could have topped that feeling."
