South Zone batter Rohan Kunnummal played an explosive inning of 107 runs in the final of Deodhar Trophy against East Zone. The brilliant knock led the team to clinch victory by 45 runs. The game started with South Zone winning the toss and opting to bat first. Rohan opened the innings for his side and started smashing the East Zone bowlers right from the first delivery. The 25-year-old celebrated his 100 in iconic Virat Kohli style, and when asked about it, Kunnummal said that he had already planned it.
Rohan Kunnummal batted alongside the skipper Mayank Agarwal to pull up a brilliant partnership of 181 runs. While Kunnummal departed after scoring 107 runs off 75 deliveries, skipper Agarwal also scored 63 runs in 83 balls. After completing his ton, it was the 25-year-old’s style of celebrating that made it to headlines. The South Zone batter imitated ex-India skipper Virat Kohli to mark his 100’s celebrations.

When asked about the same by skipper Agarwal, the Kerala-born cricketer said that he had already planned the celebrations. Rohan said, “Obviously, yes. The first day I was thinking how I will celebrate if I get a century. I was thinking from the first day itself.” He added, “I planned that before, if I get a century, I will celebrate like this.”
Speaking about his innings in the final, skipper Mayank Agarwal said, “I’ve been continuously working on my game. I’m being very very disciplined about the kind of hard work I’m putting in and where I put my energy.”
Kunnummal achieved the 100-plus mark with the combination of 11 fours and four maximums, with a strike rate of 142.67.
