The 2024 edition of the Australian Open is all set to kick start in some days’ time. However ahead of the first Grand Slam on the year, the tennis stars will feature at the Brisbane International, which serves as a practice platform for the hard court event. The 2024 Australian Open will be played from Sunday, 14 January till 28 January at the Rod Laver Arena.
While the tournament will see the return of Rafael Nadal, Naomi O s aka to name a few, Andy Murray will continue to fight for a Grand Slam title. Speaking on the sidelines of the Brisbane International, Murray has vowed to continue playing tennis until he feels he can’t anymore.
“The body’s old but I still love it, and I’m still loving the training and traveling,” Murray said. “It’s a little bit tougher now being away - you’ve got a young family, which is tough. But I feel good enough to compete with the best players in the world, and I’ll keep playing until I feel I can’t do that anymore,” he further said.

Andy Murray and 22-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal played a practice game ahead of the Australian Open 2023. Taking to X, Nadal shared a post captioned, “Thanks @andy_murray from a great practice today. Al the best for the tournament my friend @BrisbaneTennis.”
The 36-year-old replied to Nadal stating, “Thanks for the opportunity to be back on the court with you.. Good luck with the comeback.”
