The much-awaited World Test Championship is just a day away from the start and earlier today, both captains posed with the Test mace at the Oval in London. With the WTC Final, set to kick start from June 7 at the Oval, Team India skipper Rohit Sharma opened up on his stance of winning an ICC trophy.

 

The all-format skipper of India in the pre-match press conference stated that he would like to win one-two ICC trophies as a skipper of the side. While addressing the media and journalists present, Rohit quoted, “I want to take this Indian team forward and win 1-2 ICC trophies as captain.”

During the pre-match press conference, Team India skipper Rohit Sharma also stated that he will wait till the match day to announce and confirm the Playing XI. When questioned by a journalist to leave a player like Ravichandran Ashwin from the XI, Sharma replied, “I have not said that Ashwin will not going to play. We will wait until tomorrow as the pitch changes quite a bit with time.”

 

He further clarified the statement that the team is aware that all 15 players who are part of the squad should be ready to come out and play at any time.
