India’s 2024 T20 World Cup triumph in Barbados has given a euphoria to every Indian cricket fan as the Men in Blue finally cleared the finishing line after a decade of heartbreak in major ICC events. Now the fans are even more excited for major ICC events in the upcoming years. The next big ICC event is the Champions Trophy, which will be hosted by Pakistan in the initial months of 2025, followed by the third World Test Championship final at Lord's Cricket Ground in London in the summer of 2025.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has already announced the list of all major tournaments till 2031. Talking about Women’s cricket, the ICC has also revealed the list of major tournaments till 2027 with the next event being 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup, which will be played from October 3rd to October 20th in Bangladesh.
The upcoming ICC World Cup events includes three editions of the T20 World Cup in 2026, 2028 and 2030 and two editions of the ODI World Cup in 2027 and 2031. Along with this, the Champions Trophy, which last took place in 2017, is now back with two more editions in 2025 and 2029 respectively. Big cricketing nations like India, South Africa, Australia, England, New Zealand, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will be hosting all the big ICC tournaments from 2025 to 2031.
In women’s cricket, the major ICC tournaments are scheduled till 2027. The T20 World Cup will be played in 2024 and 2026, with the ODI World Cup in 2025 and Champions Trophy in 2027 with countries like Bangladesh, India, England and Sri Lanka hosting these big events.
