The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Monday, August 26 announced the updated schedule for the upcoming Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 after it was moved out of Bangladesh due to political unrest to the United Arab Emirates. As the updated fixtures, the Women in Blue will be taking on their arch-rivals, Pakistan on October 6 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Speaking further of the tournament, which will be played from October 3 to 20th across two venues in UAE, Dubai and Sharjah, will see Bangladesh play the opener against Scotland. Meanwhile, the playoffs are scheduled to commence from October 17, with the final set to be played on October 20th at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
However, the groups for the ninth edition of the tournament continue to be the same as the 2020 runners-up, India are grouped alongside six-time champions, Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan and Sri Lanka in Group A, whereas South Africa, England, 2016 champions West Indies, Bangladesh and Scotland comprise of Group B.
