After Rohit Sharma’s comment of needing 20-25 days to prepare for Finals like these, former Indian head coach Ravi Shastri has hit back at the Indian captain. The former Indian cricketer believes that if the team requires 20-25 days for such a tournament, then they should start missing the cash-rich league.
The former Indian cricketer said, “If you need 20-25 days to prepare, then start missing IPL.” He added that this could be the simplest thing if this remains the reason of losing big ICC events like the World Test Championship Final.
The Rohit Sharma-led side lost the WTC Final 2021-23 by 209 runs against Australia. After being given the target of 444 runs, the side failed to reach the world record-chasing score. However, they added 164 runs at the loss of three wickets on Day 4, the Men in Blue needed just 280 runs on the final day with seven wickets in hand.
