Rory McIlroy, the former world number one golfer from Northern Ireland, has been in the limelight in the world of golf for many years, due to his consistent success in the sport. Ever since the 34-year-old turned into a professional golfer in 2007, he has won four major championships, including two PGA Championship, the U.S. Open, and the Open Championship, just after turning 25.

But, for the better part of the last 10 years, Rory McIlroy has been searching for that elusive fifth major championship in golf. Last weekend, he took part in the U.S. Open of golf at the Los Angeles Country Club, finishing in second place at (-9), behind the American Wyndham Clark at (-10), who won his first major championship on June 18, Sunday.

Notably, before the final day’s play began at the US Open in Los Angeles, Rory McIlroy arrived in style at the golf course as the media caught a glimpse of him in the parking lot. Just as the Northern Irishman was walking past one of the camera crews, while waving at them, he saw Brooks Koepka arriving at the Los Angeles Country Club in his car.

Without a moment’s hesitation, McIlroy jokingly said to the American, “I’m kind of a big deal.” Hearing that, Koepka burst into laughter, which prompted the 34-year-old to see the funny side of the moment too.

Meanwhile, the 33-year-old American hadn’t had the best tournament in the U.S. Open last weekend. He finished the tournament in tied 17th place at (-1), alongside Matt Fitzpatrick from England.
