The Mohammad Rizwan-led Multan Sultans hosted Shadab Khan’s Islamabad United in the title clash of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 on Monday, March 18. While the Multan Sultans were coming on the back of a brilliant campaign, the Islamabad United comfortably chased the 160-run target at the National Stadium in Karachi.
However, all-rounder Imad Wasim put a match-winning show, taking a five-wicket haul and restricting the Multan Sultans to 159/9, he also hogged the limelight for his off-the-field gestures, triggering controversy in the tournament. During the course of the game, the Pakistan all-rounder was caught smoking a cigarette in the dressing room, video of which is going viral on social media.
As per the video circulating widely across social media platforms, the camerapersons were quick to focus on Imad Wasim, who was caught smoking a cigarette during the 18th over of the Multan Sultans inning.

Speaking of the PL 2024 finale, the Rizwan-led side won the toss and opted to put the score on the board first. On the back of Usman Khan’s 57 off 40 deliveries, the side posted 159/9 in their 20 overs. On the other hand, the United successfully chased the total in their 20 overs quote to seal the game and clinch the title by two wickets.
Islamabad United all-rounder Imad Wasim was adjudged the Player of the Match in the title clash, while captain Shadab Khan was awarded the Player of the Series.
