Islamabad United bowling-allrounder Imad Wasim received brutal trolling from the fans after he recreated football star Lionel Messi's iconic celebration directed at the crowd in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024. Imad pulled off the cheeky response to fans teasing him with 'Babar' chants during Islamabad's fielding on Thursday.
The incident took place during the 24th match of the PSL 2024 between Islamabad United and Karachi Kings at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Thursday. Islamabad defeated Karachi by five wickets with eight balls remaining while chasing a 151-run target and moved to the second spot in the PSL 2024 standings.
After winning the toss, Islamabad captain Shadab Khan decided to bowl first and fans mocked Imad Wasim with 'Babar' chants during his fielding at the boundary line. Imad appeared to show the back of his jersey, which has his name, to the crowd and the gesture seemingly indicated Lionel Messi's iconic goal celebration during his Barcelona days.
